Career Academies Information Session - November

The Howard County Public School System will host “Focus on Your Future,” an information session for secondary students and parents about the school system’s Career Academies. Participants will hear from current Academy students and alumni about the opportunities, internships and projects they are involved with. The information session is from 7–9 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2018 and December 11, 2018, at the HCPSS Applications and Research Laboratory at 10920 Clarksville Pike in Ellicott City.

The information session will provide opportunities to learn how the Career Academies at the ARL and each HCPSS high school provide students with opportunities to earn college credit, scholarships, industry certifications, participate in worksite and mentorship experiences, and become creative problem solvers by participating in hands-on project based learning.

Career Academy programs are designed to prepare high school students to be college and career ready and to meet the demands of the 21st century global economy. Academies are offered in 20 different career fields, including aerospace engineering, Cybersecurity networking, health professions, HVAC, and more.
