CyberPatriot Top 50 Nationally!

Congrats to Class of 2026 ARL Cybersecurity Networking students and CyberPatriot semifinalists: Sean Cabaniss(Glenelg High School), Jay Patel (River Hill High School), Andrew Patrone (Glenelg High School),  Musab Mohammad (Atholton High School), Ivan Opare (Guilford Park High School), and Brian Zhang (Mt. Hebron High School)! 

At the recent Maryland State Cybersecurity Championships for CyberPatriot XVII, Team 17-1563 was ranked 41 out of over 3000 teams nationwide earning themselves a spot in the upcoming National Semifinals.

The team recently earned their Cisco Certification through the ARL program and this year's CyberPatriot competition provided an opportunity to showcase their technical skills where they earned the 3rd highest score for the network simulation challenge in the country.

CyberPatriot is a national cybersecurity defense competition. Each round includes a set of virtual operating systems and a network simulation where students are tasked with finding and fixing cybersecurity vulnerabilities. The semifinalists will face Linux, Windows, server and networking challenges along with a capture the flag challenge and a custom challenge created by industry experts on Friday January 24.
