ARL was chosen based on the creative proposal submitted by Alyson Donoghue to address Culturing and Isolating Thraustochytrids (microalgae) from the Chesapeake Bay as an alternate source of Omega-3 fatty acids in order to reduce overfishing and farming of native fish species using STEM learning in her classroom
